The group would unknowingly choose one player to play against the team for the exemption.

The group would play across a board:

competing against the one player. They would attempt to create a path from left to right by answering questions. All questions had answers of the corresponding hexagon.

The one single player would try to work from top to bottom answering questions.

Along the board were traps and prizes that the team could use to their advantage.

Should the team win, $40,000 goes into the pot.
Should the single player win, that player earns the exemption.
